Faint Signal Light Tone?

Lately, for some odd reason, the tone emitted from putting the keys into the ignition or turning on the signal lights is fainter than normal. It only happens sometimes and it usually returns to normal after about 15-20 minutes of driving. Usually. But, I noticed that its beginning to happen more frequently and I'm worried it'll eventually stop working altogether. Anyone else have the same issue?

2 possibilities. First, did you try to adjust the chime volume yet in the d I c?

second, they run through the speakers. Sometimes when your driver side front speaker is going, this issue will arise. I just read about it on NAIOA.

Has to be the speaker. I've noticed lately that I can barely hear music emitting from that side so it makes sense for it to be that. That really sucks. I'm always careful about the volume, but I guess it eventually goes at some point. Bummer.

This is also a sign that your blinker fluid is getting low. The faint noise is a warning that the fluid is getting low and that it needs to be changed. It's like $100 at the dealer.

Good news is the speaker is pretty easy to get to. Door panel comes apart fairly easy. 4 screws and some plastic tabs as I recall.

Impala Factory Stereo Integration Part 4 - YouTube

Yes, door panel removal is painless. The tweeter is even easier to get to, which could also be the problem.

As a side note, when I did all of this, I also amped the system. The turn signals are almost painfully audible now. When you replace the factory head unit and use an interface module, the interface module is what the turn signals and warning chimes come out of. But I used a line out convertor, so the sound comes from the left front speakers still. You can find the gm harnesses on amazon, so you dont have to cut the factory plugs off when you replace the speakers.

I think it is the door speaker, not the tweeter.....that makes the signal clicking....but again, just basing on the NAIOA thread I referenced.
