Also just a quick note here, Jtrosky, and myself, and others have been upgrading our radios to the Rosen GM PD1010 radios with nav. They can be found on eBay from a seller called Memory-U. Usually around $150.00 for radio, Bose harness, and GPS antenna. Search "Rosen" in the forums and the thread should be listed.
Much appreciated-I contacted a friend at Chevy and waiting to hear back from them-seeing if its something obvious i am missing...If it comes down to being a shit radio-I may take you up on that offer...
Not a problem. If it does turn out to be a bad radio send me a private message with your shipping information and I will be happy to send it right out to you. In all actuality it is a brand new radio out of the box. I had to have mine replaced under warranty because it was not releasing my CDs. So the dealership replaced it with a new unit.

Radio replacement may be the way to go. Between the 2 units there is only the 5 wires, 4 for right and left audio and the data line. If you have the way to check with a DMM or a test light maybe look and see if there is wire at the XM unit. At the unit it would be the 16th Pin, and Red/White. This goes from there to the Onstar Fuse. If the Onstar fuse is missing or blown that XM unit won't power. Looking at your pictures looks like there has not been any work at the radio that could mess up your wiring.

Just remember that if you get someone elses stock radio, you're going to have to pay a GM dealership to reprogram it for your vehicle. Personally, I would just put that money towards a Rosen instead - you'll be MUCH happier with the Rosen anyway (in every aspect)!

OK-So I took it to where i bought it and they..err..can't seem to figure it out...they say that since i have the antenna and i have the receiver that it should be working...(yeah-they were not a real big help)...Pretty much I am down to three options...
1)I wait it out-take it to Chevy and pay 95+ dollars and have them tell me WTH is wrong with it
2)I take NY13LTZ up on his offer, and pay Chevy to reprogram it
3)I get this Rosen...

Question about the Rosen, Do I have to run any specific wires-or do all the ones that are with the car already work?

Techchef me personally I would do the Rosen upgrade. That's what I did and why my stock radio is in a box. Personally Jtrosky is right. Do the Rosen!

Now here is the biggest dilemma-Say it is the XM receiver in the trunk that is bad instead...and the radio is actually 100% fine?

That's true - it's definitely a possibility... Could be an issue with the XM receiver or even the wiring. We really don't know at this point. So really, without further troubleshooting, the Rosen or another radio may not fix the problem.

So at this point what do you do? All I can think of is eliminate parts piece by piece.

I thought I would ask seeing I didn't hear about the unit being tested or looking at your OnStar fuse? Does your onstar work if your press your onstar button? You can always press it and then say sorry it was an accident your adjusting your mirror!

Also did you test the Red/White wire back at the XM box also make sure that the Ground wire is good and connected? Again didn't hear anything about testing the unit.

I was happy to see that you pulled the headunit and made sure your Wires were connected, But just need a little more testing before Buying a Reprogram of another persons radio...

I would hate to see you connect it and pay to program and have it not be the issue after all...

James

To Test it, If you have a DMM or test light you could get to the wires without removing the unit. However to be safe, I would remove XM from car mount, lay unit down, Test it by back probing the connector. Also checking the ground at the unit and follow the ground to where it makes the connection to the Body and and make sure it is well grounded. Problem is that if you unplug it and test (Front probe) it could be that there is power enough to power test light but not enough to power the XM box.. Even though it don't take much power.

If you don't have DMM or Test light you might have someone at a Local Car Stereo shop do the testing for you... Some may do it with hopes you will come back and buy some upgrades. Some people may charge a Flat rate or Shop rate for testing.. Sadly there is in some cases if they not very kind. A minimum of an hour labor even if it takes 1 min.

It isn't what you Drive that matters, It is how you drive it.

James

Guess the DMM didn't get to you, Sorry you had to pay for a Missing fuse... That is why I was trying to get you to test for power at the XM unit...

However I am a little Lost really. Your car is a 2007, and only fuses I know that goes to the XM box is the ONSTAR 10amp and 60amp main fuses that is used for the XM, Onstar, and Garage Door control if there is one for your car... Looked over all other fuses and there just don't show anything inside or under hood just for XM?

Well glad you got it working. Lucky 47 isn't that much to pay for Non Stop Music..

Enjoy
