I have a 08 SS with bose speakers. I was wondering what would be a upgrade over these. They sound nice but with that factory amp im sure I can get better sound....
Side note I dont want them for bass I want something with great clarity. I plan on installing 2 12' subwoofers or 1 15' sub.
Just a comment. I had a 2009 Super Sport with the Bose system and our 2014 LTZ limited has the Bose system. I always felt the way that you felt. However, since upgrading the head unit in a 2014 (to the Rosen 1010 Nav unit), the system sounds notably better. Much better. This leads me to believe that upgrading the speakers would not have helped me. Upgrading the head unit was actually the solution. Just my 2 cents.
That is my next plan. I just bought 2 Kicker 12' subwoofers but haven't installed yet. Looking for a nice double din for a good price. Missed out on a nice Pioneer one on black Friday
I went with the JL Audio C2/C3 decklid/front door speakers on my LS non-bose. coupled with a 400 watt rms amp i think they do quite well. at highway speeds you can very clearly hear the stereo (kenwood excelon head unit) over the wind noise. the cool thing about the c3 was that the tweeters could be mounted onto the mid so no need to drill any holes in the a pillers. i've been running them for 5 years now with no issues. the rears when pressed hard enough with the bass turned up will hit the mid surrounds (they have that much movement). but that's just my setup, to each their own.
