Does anyone kno where I can get the back/trunk trim that matches the color of the car for the 8th Gen model impalas(06-09)? I have a blue impala.

Well, you can do that or get a 2012 piece. Just opening up options. I seem to recall they do not come painted, I could be wrong though.

What do you mean get a 2012 piece? And the ss's come painted already so im looking for one that's from an ss or any OEM place that has them because my ltz has the chrome instead. I think the color one looks better

I would think it'd be cheaper to take yours to an auto paint shop and have it painted your stock color than it would to buy a pre-painted one and intsall...

already checked this out for mine. the trim piece in question comes in chrome or paint to match and is about $110 from the dealer then you need to paint it. they do not come pre painted

2. OP, take a look at a 2012 Impala. any 2012 impala from the lowest to the highest. All Impalas now come with body colored strip, just like the 06+ SS.

this is crazy talk, why buy one for $110 that needs to be painted anyways, take your stock one off and write down your paint code. Bring them both to a paint shop, I can't fathom there's a place in this world that would charge more than $50 to do it, it would only take 10 minutes to paint...

They would have to charge for an hour of paint plus the materials. 50 bucks sounds about right tho, maybe like 80

Alright I can just get it painted then cuz that does sound better. For one, does anyone kno how to get it off and also where can I find the number for the paint color.

Not sure how it comes off but paint code should be on the trunk lid I believe.

it comes off by pulling it off but watch out for breaking the clips on it. i have already broken 2 of mine. your paint code is located in the floor of the trunk under the carpet on the drivers side. look for xxU the x's will be 2 numbers. for instance mine is 87U which translates into Ink Slate Metallic

open trunk start at either end of chrome strip and start popping the thing off
