i am thinking about putting some iroc rims on my car, i love the way the 22's sit but i dont want to loose any acceleration or smoothnees of the ride. I need some opinions on what rims to ride ...Factory impala rims, 20" or 22" iroc rims
You will loose some power with the heavier rims. But they do look go though! If you go with the bigger IRocs, (So many people have them on our cars) you should change the rear gears to help compensate for the tranny. 3.73 or 4.10 @ an extra $1,000.
Impala ss wheels are pretty popular i might be in the market for some ss wheels for my 90 as well! last set i had on my 93 with 3 inch drop on 275/55's and she drop and performed pretty decent
I like the look of the IROC wheels, but at 20" they are to large for my taste
If they came in a 5X5 bolt pattern and 18" I would buy a full set.
I have Impala SS wheels on my 95 SS Wagon.
I have been looking at some 18" Boss 335 wheels in Black, but they don't come in 18" at this time.
I have looked at a set of Corvette ZR-1 Black wheels also.
I know some people that do use the wheel adapters and auto cross there cars and have had no issues. In everyone's tool box you should have a torque wrench and impact sockets. I know of some folks that just use the X bar to put on and take off there wheels and tires. Yes it works but to properly do the job you need the right stuff for safety. When I was 19 a I was riding with friend and the front right tire and wheel came off the car, luckily we were only doing 30 MPH and no one got hurt or any body damage.
