Any thoughts or tips on lowering my new 2017 chevy impala an inch or so? will it screw up the warranty? It has 20 inch wheels and stock 245/40 tires. Thinking about wider tires, 255's? Should I lower first or tires first? Thanks.
There is no lowering kit available as of now. Only way to go would be to cut the springs and this will adversely affect the ride. I would also assume any kind of modification to the suspension would certainly void your warranty on at least any problem that could be related to it. As far as 255's go I do not believe they would fit as there is really not much room behind the stock tires. Good Luck.
I think someone on here bought something to raise the rear of their car. It's a previous gen to yours but I would assume you could do the same just on the front. I believe it was KG2014.. maybe?
It does look nice with no wheel gap but I wouldn't do it at the sacrifice of comfort. It would only be able to drop a max of 1-2 inches anyhow. Even my crazy ass couldn't imagine spending a few thousand dollars for a 1 inch drop.
I agree that closing up the wheel gap would make the car look much nicer. My problem is having lowered almost all my previous vehicles it's next to impossible to not lose ride quality in the process which I don't want to do to my Impala.
