Morning, anyone know the OEM torque settings for the three upper plate nuts and the two lower pinch bolts for the rear struts?
Would have thought they would come with the new strut instructions, but never.
Thx
The torque numbers aren't included with my Alldatadiy subscription for the 8th Gen, unfortunately. They are listed in my 7th gen subscription as 90lb ft for the strut to knuckle bolts, 20 lb ft for the brake hose bracket, and the strut to body bolts (at the top) are listed as 30 lb ft.
I would definitely find and use the proper torque specification for something like suspension parts. Those parts are constantly vibrating and getting "jarred" - without the proper torque specs, you run the risk of something coming loose pretty easily over time.
Torque wrenches are cheap. No reason not to use the proper torque specs. Even if it's not the most accurate, it will get you MUCH closer than just guessing at the torque without a torque wrench.
