I have a 2007ImpalaLs, 3.5L with just over 120,000 miles on it. I just replaced the sparkplugs, filters and wires. Despite that the check engine light just came back on after replacing those parts about 3 weeks ago. I was told there is a slight misfire in the 5th cylinder aswell, but its very slight and you only feel it in idle.Any suggestions?
For what it's worth, you can get an OBD-II scan tool dirt cheap on-line - you can even get bluetooth models really cheap.
If you want to just go buy one at a retail store, check out Harbor Freight Tools - they sell them too (and at decent prices). These scan tools are great to have laying around as your car starts getting older...
What are your thoughts on that Torque app? I've never used it, but it looks kinda cool... Is there much that you can do with it that you can't with a cheap-o code scanner?
Torque app is great. Reads codes. Checks your pressure from throttle or barometric. Intake reading. Gas percentage. Clear codes. Rev limit. O2 sensor banks with readings. It does a lot. Havnt tried the pro version.
You have a check engine light and you KNOW that cylinder 5 sometimes has a misfire, yet the reason for the cel aludes you?
