I had a trip to make last weekend and just for kicks I filled the tank (completely topped off) and filled a 5 gal gas container to put in the trunk, just in case. I drove 452 miles over a two day period on the one tank of gas. I didn't get an exact breakdown of the mileage at which speeds, but I'd say around 300 miles was 2 lane highway following my dad at 55-65 mph. The rest was interstate with the cruise locked on 78 mph. All mileage driven with the AC on. When I filled it back up, the car took 16.6 gallons (again, completely topped off). That's an overall average of 27.22 mpg's and the car's computer was telling me 27.3 mpg average. I sure was sweating the last 20 miles - I had the extra gas, but didn't want to have to use it - LOL!! It will be interesting to see what happens to my mileage when I get the new tires and new exhaust. I would think I'll get slightly less mpg's with new tires due to slightly higher tire diameter and more rolling resistance, but maybe the exhaust will free it up a little bit to cancel the tires out. Also, just a side note - my car flipped 66,000 miles on this trip and I still have the stock Goodyear Eagle RS-A's on it. They still have a little tread left, but they don't stay planted in heavy rain the way they used to.

Like to see more info on the tunes with graphs, first. Then compare money for the punch.

Not sure. I just don't like the way it shifts now and I was going to have the shift points reset so the car can "re-learn" them. I have noticed a weird shift point from 3 - 4 (about 38-40mph) where it will not want to up or down shift. If I am hard on the gas it climbs past that no problem. What is your milage, if you don't mind me asking. So I know if I have something to look forward to.

See the same thing in mine 37 to 41 depends on how hard you step on gas.
I think a tune will fix that, some guys on camaro board were having the same problem and a tune fixed it.

Define "Tune"; are we talking speed shop tune or going to your local GM dealer and having them tune it?

Thanks.

It's great that the Impala shares the same V6 as the Camaro just for another source to find out with can be done to the engine. It's sad though that the Impala is not RWD. I would have loved that!!!

It start at 4800 miles and I now have 10,000 just hit 10k on the way to work.

The dealer has reflashed 3 different tranmission programs and nothing. I like this new one sometimes I let off the gas and it started downshifting sometimes it sucks sometimes it's very helpful.

I called up the local company that does the Trifecta tunes and they're making the tune for my car.

Does anyone notice anything with the direct injection system. I have a few hills on my way to work and I usually cruise 73 MPH and half the time the car slows down and even kicked downs, today I was going 70 pressed on the gas in the middle of the hill and it didn't kick down a gear and it speed up to 80 no problems. I've been noticing a problem with the pass month. My gas mileage has went from 35+ down to 28 as well. I hope a tune will help with this as well. Dealer is no help but they wash the car everytime I take it there.

Car has been in the shop 10 times, 3 times for the dealer related Leaking oil filter, leaky drain plug etc etc.
