I was searching to see what others have done to tune their VVT and I see that there are a lot of engine swaps going on with the LLT's. (not much on tunes except for the following)

There was a site that was talking about changing the valve duration to create a "ghost cam" to make the V6 sound like an 8 at idle. There was even a YouTube and I guess my speakers are crap cause that is all I heard. There was a close to V8 sound but I was not convinced.

I have to see if mine changes based on RPM. This would explain the throttle delay: Let me explain... I am on the gas driving 45Mph (just making up numbers here cause this happens at any speed) I approach a car slowing to turn, I let off the gas but there is no need to brake (I'm old school I was taught to control the car with the throttle), the car turns and I press on the gas, 3...2...1... throttle kicks in. Not what I am use to. On a flip side: If I am on the express way and I approach a car to pass or merge in to traffic, I am on the gas and them mash the gas to merge/pass...3...2...1... throttle kicks in. From a dead stop this will not happen.
Someone, please go test drive one (any 2012) and let me know if I am crazy!

I will see what happens after I install my air intake. I'll disconnect the battery to see if that resets the computer so that it "learns" my driving patterns.

Unfortunately, I think thats more just a symptom of the drive-by-wire set up. A tune might help get rid of that delay though.

Hey, thanks for the heads up on that! When is your ETA to purchase?
Also, if soon, please post your results. I have to spec out a replacement PCM. Then I can have it programmed so I can swap when I go in for dealer/warranty work or I can program it myself once I get the software.

I am making a custom CAI right now with a 3.5 inch mass air meter.I am going to try to put the filter in the fender. then a complete exhaust from the head back and finally a custom tune.also I had 2000km on my car and I did a run it ran a 14.89 at 96mph that was with the tc on and the car in drive bone stock and the car was hot no cool down I did 4 run that night but this was my best. I am from ed Alberta and there is a dealer for trifrcta performance they have an house dyno. trifrcta performance tunes are not detected if the dealer looks they call it transparency mode.On there websit are cars are not listed but I called them and they do support the 2012 impala 3.6. here is a vid on tuning with his software.

Cool, post pics of the intake, I would like to see what you have done.
Also, in my searches early on I think I did see Trifecta. If the initial cost is for the cable and the software and the first tune and any tunes after that are free, that would be a good option. That way if the dealer flashes the PCM back to OEM and can use the last tune to "flash back" to my custom tune. Let me know how you do and I think I will call them and get some info on pricing and depending on how you make out, if you like it, maybe in the spring I will place an order.

RECALL??? Well, I hope it is not a "Total Recall!".... I could not resist. Did you get a letter from GM? I know there are 2 types of recalls - (I don't know the names of them) one is a when you are in for service & they hook you up and the other GM sends you a letter telling you that you have to have it done ASAP.

Also, are you asking how many miles I get to a tank of gas?
If that is the question, I average about 230ish just going to & from work.
If I get a chance to do some highway driving, I could push a little over 300 (running to vapors). Turning the traction control off changes all that. I did not do a whole tank to see what it would be but I would shave off about 30-40 miles.

Dang Bro, you must be in the gas awfully hard!! I drive all over town all day every day and my 2010 LTZ stays between 20-23 mpg's. When I have to run out to the islands for work, at 55 mph my car turns low-mid 30's mpg's consistently. Interstate driving at 80 mph gets 25-27 mpg's depending on traffic and wind. I normally fill up about every 350-360 miles and that's not on empty. This is exactly the reason I sold my truck for this Impala - it has saved me a TON on gas.

Are we all still stock? (not counting the computer tunes)

I have intake and exhaust and also, stop light to stop light driving. There is alsothe short hops at work driving around the compound. Factor in some of theremote starts from COLD engine from sitting over night so I can jump in andgo!!! I would like it if I could override the climate controls so I can setwhat I want when I remote start: For example, 1) remote start to warm up thedrive train, 2) for A/C last state - Heat or AC based on the season. I knowthat kills the mileage. I base it on the number of days, with my GTP it was every 4 days I needed gas, now I can do 6 to 8 days. Also, did I mention because of the throttle lag I have to floor it a lot to get the response I am use to.

I'm in attics and crawl spaces every day so I use the remote start all the time so the car is cool when I get in it. I don't do a lot of flooring it anymore. I probably will do more of that when I get the exhaust on it. Mine is completely stock. I will admit that I don't drive it nearly as hard as I have any other vehicle, simply because it's the first vehicle I've ever owned that doesn't have a V8 and I bought it specifically for comfort and gas mileage.
