Okay guys, been a while since ive had a problem with my impala, but right now im a little skeptical of my temperature reading falsely.
Everyday on startup from sitting overnight, ive noticed my temperature gauge had been reading near between the 1/4 mark and cold mark. It doesnt even begine at the cold mark. (As seen in the pic)
Thermostat was replaced 3 months back, im beginning to beleive its my coolant temp sensor.
I do t think it's the sensor if it's like that with the car off. I wonder if it's the stepper motor. I'll test a few things on my car tomorrow and post back.
At that moment the car was on. When the car is completely off its on the C. But the momenr i start it up its like the above picture. Amd this is from sitting over night
Is it hot there? Because mine does that just from sitting in the sun on a hot day but hasn't otherwise. As hot as it is here I've never given it a second thought. I'll have to hook up my elm327 clone and see what it says before I start it when it's hot outside.
I did a test before start up and temp was reading at 111℉ from sitting over night.
This was with the ELM 327
