2008 Impala SS transmission solenoid

Hey guys. I'm new here and need to know something. Can you replace the shift solenoids, tcc solenoid and pressure solenoid on the 5.3 SS without dropping the transmission? I'll do it myself if I don't have to drop the tranny. I don't have the tools necessary to drop the transmission, so I would have to take it to a shop. The reason I would like to replace the solenoids is because I'm getting a shuddering sensation around 30mph and up. The car also had a hard take-off before I put lucas slip fix in it. But that's just a temporary fix. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for posting but this is for a V6. Mine is a 5.3 liter V8. I need to know if there is enough room to do this exact same procedure or do I need to pull the transmission because the engine is much larger and may not allow enough room to access side cover through tire well.

I looked it up on GM Service Information and they have you changing them like you would if the vehicle had a 3.5L or the 3.9L engines. Support the engine from above and drop the cradle as far as possible so that you can lower the transmission side enough to gain access to the transmission side cover. The process is similar to the one mentioned in the link that Bill58 linked to.

Man thanks a million. I really appreciate it. Have called mechanic shops and asked questions all over the place and couldn't really get a sure answer. This is great information.
