Any benefit to using the Police/Taxi edition struts on my '03 LS?

At 134k miles I'm well overdue to restore my ride & handling. I've been looking at the KYB Strut-plus for all corners. This leads me to two questions:

1) IF (and it's a big IF) I can find the strut pluses in Police/Taxi edition, would this give me better handling than non police? What exactly does this offer vs the nons? And would those fit my '03 LS?

2) Anyone have any rave reviews or qualms about using KYB's Strut Plus? In research I've done KYB seems to have the highest rep for good stuff with a tight feel. Bilstein, besides being pricey enough to be plated in gold, seems to have reviewers saying they're a tad squishy and floaty. I drive a sporty Impala, not a Buick or Crown Vic, so I don't want floaty.

Thoughts?

I'm planning on buying the Monroe Quick Struts and I'm wondering if the 'police package' struts will fit my 2006 Impala LTZ? I read on another site that the police package uses a stiffer coil spring and it may raise the ride slightly.

I'd say it's a safe bet the Copper Package strut package will improve things, not only now but from the day it was born.

I had a 2004 3.4 Impala. It really needed tires better than the Badyear LS or GS, and I also replaced the struts with GR-2, which helped considerably.
