Looking to add to my car and don't really know where to start, so far everything is stock. I'm a beginner to modding so I want to start simple. I am interesting into performance mods and aesthetics, let me know what you suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Whaaa!!??!! A forum entry and discussion that's not from 5 years ago!!! Glad to know this forum is alive. Starting my mods on the impala here as well (3.8L 2003 LS).

First thing I did was change all the struts and springs (to Monroe premium shocks from AAP) and changed the front sway bar bushings and steering end links to polyurethane bushings. Handing Aman steering improved drastically, getting rid of the boaty feel.

I Felt that the impala always had sufficient power, but lacked in handling, hence focusing on that first.

Added a front strut tower brace for under $150 3800performance . Com. THIS WAS A phenom choice. Now I feel like maverick from Top Gun on the interstate ("Hey Goose, what's the hard deck at again?")

Just ordered stainless steel braided brake lines to reduce the spongy feel. Also hoping to upgrade brakes to the Cadillac dual or quad piston calipers for better stopping power next.

Engine wise: water pump, belt, spark plugs, and upgraded to stainless steel elbow joints for the coolant pipe. AND I run full synthetics mobil1 extended mileage 5w-30. Maintenance is the basic way to keep up power, right?

Hoping to build a 2.5" or 3" stainless steel exhaust to compliment the air intake upgrade. Haven't figured out what to do with the intake upgrade, since I secretly want to install the supercharger for the potential +60hp (if I recall correctly).

Going to be reading the threads on upgraded headers soon.

Also assuming that I would need to go to the dyno once these are in place.

I haven't started any performance mods yet on my 05, but I've settled on upgrading the suspension first. No point in adding power if you can't keep your car on the road!

I'm looking at Strut Tower Brace, Rear Trailing Arm, and bigger sway bar, front and back. There are other suspension and steering "upgrades" available, but the general reviews leave me with the impression that they are a lot of money for little benefit. I have a dual piston caliper set from an 8th gen Impala I will be putting on next time I do front brakes.
