Question Universal Muffler help?

hey everyone i have an 02 impala ls 3.8 i am doin a diy custom exhaust and using a flowmaster 60 series muffler but since its universal do I have to put exhaust hangars on it or can I skip that step and just mount it up? Thanks for any input

muffler clamps from summit (no access to welding equipment) im only mounting 1 in the factory location.

IMO that should be fine. The rubber hangers are better because there is less vibration and noise.

fwiw, i add 2 hangers when i converted to single 3" from single 2.25", you'll need a hanger @ the "Y" and for the other exh, outlet.

if you get the dual exhaust conversion kit from GM can you use any of the exhaust sytems for the 2004-05 impalas and other w body exhuast kits?

should be able to, but if you're going that route, you might as well buy the GMPP aftermarket dual etup for a SS/GTP and have a local shop install it. Have heard a lot of good things about that setup ;)
