Are you putting a different/better tranny in or rebuilding the one you have? What options do you have with the FWD transmissions? And how much HP can the FWD trannys take? I am just courious for all of my FWD's had been 4 bangers, which did not have much in the way of HP. I have owned one Citation (worthless car), one Plymouth Reliant (oh I wish I had kept that car, it would not spin tires on dry payment yet it would out run anything on street racing - even a early 70's corvette with dual quads hanging out of the hood) and two Dodge minie vans.

ummm, the clutch packs were shot about 40k, and 2 cam swaps ago ;) if that give you any answers. There are a few places to get one built, ranging from 1400-4000+ depends what you want done. The current record holder for FWD Wbodys runs a 8.9x @ 15x mph

Just thought I'd keep you guys up to date on where I am so far...
This week I wont be doing too much more, air hose + parts are at my paernts, so I prob wont be updating until monday or so at the earliest ;) Last week ![]() 2 thing i have notice since the engine is out, 1. Oil filter loc is different on the Lucerne L26, so you'll have to either buy a reloc kit or use your exsisting l36 one 2.oil pan appears to be slightly different, I'll know more next week when i have them both off to compare, it may just be the way the engines are sitting. this week: took heads, blower, intake off ![]() yanked the engine/trans as one ![]() EWWWW nasty blown CV boot left overs + a few thousand miles ![]() ![]() thats better ![]() ![]() more to come as it happens its taking a little longer than I'd like, got sick this week, had issues removing the axle from hub (drivers side) and the trans lines a re a PITA to disco from the trasn, had to jack the car up on pass isde, and start lifting the engine to remove them got a little bored and decided to try to polish the t-stat housing, we'll see if i decide to polish anything else :P ![]() |
