Hey fellas,
Tranny problems, think it needs new soliniods, hard shifting and such, but been pretty good for the last 3 months doing nothing but adding tranny fluid because of a leak.
Anyways, I have noticed that it leaks alot when i go in reverse. Like it will leave a trail of fluid.
Today, I was parked on a hill at my kids school, waiting for him, ON ICE, because of a storm of snow last night. ( PA )
WHn i parked, I put car in reverse to park better, but got stuck, ( Impala + snow + hill + reverse, not really possible, lol.
I didnt get on it really hard, maybe like 2 seconds in reverse, but medium-high RPMs. There was a car like 10 inches infront of me, so i was bumper to bumper, sliding down the hill almost into the other car. SO I told her to move up, luckily she was waiting for a kid. So I just said, heck with it, went around the block and came back around to find another spot.
My kid pointed out I was leaking fluid, and it seemed like 2 quarts or so, enough to run past the car about 2 ft.
I recently had the leak looked at by my new car dude, because I need inspection, ( Strut mounts, both back are shot i guess ) a $600 job. ( $300 just labor)..
Now, this problem.. I put more fluid in it after cleaning the leaked fluid, and it didnt seem to drip out, but after about 5 miles, it started to make a noise and jerk again.
The noise is hard to explain, sounds like, a coffee grounder?, and can be heard if I drove past you on the street. Thats when I know its low of fluid, so I will add fluid, it goes away, but the hard shifting is pretty much allways there now.
Looks like a rebuild needed? a line broke? It was aLOT of fluid.
