Good day everyone.

I am currently working on a transmission project. The title says it all.
-2004 Impala LS 3.8, 4-speed 4t65e tranny.

The only issue with this car, is a "high rev slip" from 1st to 2nd. No other shifting problems. When I slow for a turn and and during driving it drives and shifts fine. Only starting from a stop is the issue. a standard-like high rev at takeoff and shifts to 2nd. Its not a harsh shift. Seems like it just takes a minute to go into gear.
When I put the gear selector to "1" there is no hesitation, and I can shift manually with no slipping.
**Anyone have an idea of the issue? No mil light or codes present**

Ive dropped the tranny, and I took the side cover off and replaced the Pressure control solenoid. I decided to wait to put it back together, I want to know if there is anything else I should replace before reassembly.

I have posted this issue before and the thread kinda died so I reposted with some updated info and questions. Thank you in advance!! :icon_colors:

If the valve body is exposed might as well replace the shift solenoids and install the valve body portion of a transgo kit.

I do have the TransGo shift kit. Do I have to remove the valve body? I was watching a video on youtube about replacing the solenoids and cleaning the valve body, and there are "Check balls" that usually fall out when taking the VB off? How would I know where these check balls go when reassembling?
I do what to clean up the VB.

I believe he is or has replaced the 1-2 solenoid as I stated should probably be done.

I dont recall if you said to replace the 1-2 solenoid but I do recall the PCS. only having limited funds, all I can afford to buy the 1-2 solenoid, already did the PCS. Right now im hesitant on removing the valve body due to the check balls falling out and I wont know where they go back it.

I have the haynes repair manual for the car but they dont tell you anything about the transmission other than removal and installation.
Do you know of a link for the PDF manual of the 4t65e?
