I believe they are, then again $$$$ aren't the good foam filters pricey or have they come down since I looked?

Not sure. When I bought my Uni for my old Crotch Rocket, it was cheaper than the Gauze, but more than the Paper.

I wonder if there's an article with the differences between foam, gauze, and paper flow #'s. I'll look when i get the chance

Tested the snubnose intake system at the 1/8th mile track this weekend. After removing the weatherstripping on the front of the hood, my times increased by .31 seconds. Not bad considering the mod was free.

i can post the most recent, but i'm positive i never ran better than a 9.81 last year. I do have one other modification, i cut off the axle back exhaust and just dumped it. Other than that, it's the same tires, same intake, ect. It was a PERFECT day though, i doubt i could repeat the 9.50 if I wanted to. However even with a passenger on my worst time (9.75) i still beat my old ones.

To try and suffice, i have old videos:
This run I ran a 9.92..

If you want i'll go get the time slip with the 9.50 but i'm telling the honest truth.

Weather could account for a difference like that. 1. for the intake and .2 for weather would be a lot more believable.

Just to be clear when I asked for the slips I was not accusing you or dishonesty. I wanted to see things like 60ft time. Do you remember the MPH for the old runs vs the new? MPH says a lot about HP even if the wheels spin and hurt the ET.

my 9.50 second run had a MPH of just over 75

i'll check the slips later today, my 60 ft time sucks it's around 2.4-2.6 seconds

I agree with that, and frankly my car is running a lot stronger then it was previously (fixed up some leaks, issues, ect).

What I can do to solve this mystery is next time i go to the dragstrip (within the month) i'll bring the weatherstripping with me and i'll run two runs with the strip on and then two with it off, then compare the times. It is what I should have done the first time, i was just got ahead of myself. I was VERY happy having decreased my 1/8th mile time by that much, so i just automatically assumed. I'm sure it helped, but how much is something i'll have to find out later.

Airbox Filters
After posting this, I took my intake tube apart and found all kinds of dust particles in resting in the Intake (plumbing portion, not the manifold). I think I may switch to a foam filter and see how it performs/cleans the air. I live in a much dustier area now and am blown away by how much is getting through while the car just sits.

Should I drill holes in front lower bumper / nose of my 1997 Camaro to get more cold air into the filter? How many holes and exactly where? I've seen the Sheriff Camaro 02 with similar intake. Thanks For Your Time.
