Ok, here is the deal. Got my oil pan gasket replaced almost 2 yrs ago. Ever since then my Low Oil Level light comes on. It goes off after I shut my car off and crank it back up or after it sits for awhile or let it sit for the night. However, the next morning ot after it sits for a while that's when it comes back on. Never had any problems though. Oil pressure guage show normal. Can someone tell me how to keep it off or if I need to replace a sensor.
Second issue is for some reasom when i'm driving my car it acts like it's about to stall out or not getting gas. It won't die out but after it does it's thing it drives like normal again. Once it acts like it's going to sputter out my check engine light comes on. Once I cut the car off or if it sits for a minute the check engine light goes off once I start it again. The car drives fine it's just at that moment that it acts crazy...it's beginning to do it more often. I'm thinking it could be a bad fuel filter. Am I off on thinking that or could it be something else. HELP!!!!
Sounds to me like you may have two different problems. Can't help with the stalling issue without more info, but as for the oil level sensor I just bought one this morning.....it's a dealer only item and cost me $32.57....list is 40.86 and GM part # is 19112977. Hope this helps, Bill.
POPIMPIN,
Yes, that's probably the one. I didn't check fleabay.....just my local supplier, who told me he could no longer get it, so I called the Chevy store.
so i think i mgiht know why its reading low engine oil
theres a round like paper piece that checks the fluid level when i pulled my old one of it was like half or a 1/4 the size of the oem replacement maybe yours deteriorated all the way so it has no way of telling oil level??
that would be my guess like we said its only like $20 and maybe takes 10 minutes to replace
Got the check engine light checked out it'd code 46....From what the guy told me at AAMCO it's something electrical...that would explain why when my check engine light comes on my A/C stops blowing cold air and just blows warm air. Does anyone know what the code means. This would happen as I'm trying to sell it....lol
hey im new ..to piggie back his question ...my low oil-level light..started to come on and the car started to shut off because of it and i have notices oil leaks like under the headlight driver side "if the sensor deterioates would it shut the car off" ??
