Question My '96 SS is running intermittently

My '96 SS has been sitting around for awhile. The other day I went out to start the car and the fuel pump wouldn't run. I used the fuel pump jumper in the engine compartment to try and run it, still no luck. Dropped the gas tank, replaced the pump, it runs great, plenty of flow all the way through the rail and fuel pressure regulator. The car, however, would not start. I bought a noid light set and verified that all injectors are receiving voltage. I also verified that there was spark to the plugs.

I did, however, find one way to get the car to run. With the air resonator removed (leaving an open 3" hole between the MAF and the throttle body) and the #3 cylinder injector plug disconnected (with a noid light plugged into it) the engine will start and run (only slightly rough).

With the engine running if you put your hand over the 3" hole where the air resonator is usually connected the engine cuts off after about 10 seconds. I have an OBD II scanner that shows occasional P0100 and P0102 (MAF sensor) errors. If I put the air resonator on it will not run. If I connect the #3 injector plug to the injector while it is running it will continue to run. If I turn the car off it will not start with the plug installed. Disconnect #3 plg, install the noid light and it will start and run. We have cleaned the MAF sensor with throttle body cleaner so that there are no restrictions and replaced the air filter.

I am at my wits end on this one. Help!!!!

Put it back together and then disconnect the MAF and see what it does.

Make sure tha MAF is pointed in the right direction. When you have it running, wiggle the MAF wiring near the connector and see if it acts up.
