so my ongoing battle for a better breathing midly loud exhaust has come to great end...... i visited my local small town muffler shop ( i think theres only 1 in my town ) so whatever his price was i was gna go for anything under $70 dollars or so for the muffler delete

he quoted me $30!!!!!!!!!! :eek::tongue: hes an angel in mine and my caprices eyes lol so sometime this month i will be getting the muffler delete going on 240000 miles she should breath and sound a hell of alot better ill update everyone later w/ pics and maybe a sound clip if i can

ITS A NICE !!!!! TO ALL THE B BODY OWNERS ( AND U W BODYS THAT WISH U AHD 1 LMAO ) I GOT MY $30 MUFFLER DELETE YESTERDAY FOR ONE OF MY FAVORITE HOLIDAYS 420!!!!!!! SO U CAN SAY I HAD A GOOD DAY IN MORE THAN 1 WAY..... WELL when i went to pick up my car it was off the lift he had someone elses car on there so no pictures right now , but b4 i heard it he said he started it up for some other customers and told them it was MILD for what we just did to the car..........

then i went and startedd THE BEASST ...... and i got my own oppinion , FUKIN LOUD!!!!! so my next piece of advice is for anyone that wants the attention of the police u should get this mod to...... its almost to loud for me but then again it reminds me of my starfire that has stock glasspacks !!!! YES ITS THAT LOUD...... when u rev it up in park and let off the gas it backfires so loud my buddy thought i had cherry bombs on it!!!!!

anyways im just saying for future reference that if u are trying to stay under the radar dont get a muff delete but if u want a quick 15 horse power added ( im guessing ) then its a nice cheap mod

i will try to post pics and sound later but as for right now im just happy i get to drive it its like driving a diff car!!!! ok im gna go cruise now peace

SO another crazy story about how loud my exhaust is,..... lol yesterday i went to put gas in ol snow white and b4 i shut off my car i tend to rev it a little ...... well my music was up and a buddy in a 4.6 that also has exhaust was behind me at the pump, anyways i must of reved it pretty hard because the "old guy " that was in front of me putting gas in his car jumped off the ground like 6 inches and was glaring so hard after that .......... i was laughin my ass off and b4 i went to pay i got out to see my 2 buddys in the stang also laughing so im glad that i wasnt the only one who saw it...........

thought id let everyone else know how loud a muffler delete really is lol:eek:

So my new question that ive been discussing w/ a few friends is about straight piping and not having enough back pressure in the exhaust, it really was only brought to my attention when i was talking to a buddy the straight piped his older 80's chevy truck w/ a 350 in it ( prob 3 inch muff ) and he said after a little while he fried some shit in hi engine and he was told it was becaust the exhaust moved to freely and there wasnt enough back pressure....

but i also have my stock resonaters on so im sure that creates some back pressure , and my car feels a little more powerful ( although i stilll have no track time to compare to ) im sure i gained horses but what about the longevity of the stock internals????

i wouldn't compare a 80's 350 with a 90's LT1.......
i think they qualify as 2 different animals....

if you are running around 3grand and take your foot off the go pedal and you hear the popping sound then back pressure has room for improvement.....
basically muff delete is too little back pressure in my opinion for a performance exhaust, but i did it for the sound, ask your self your goal then you will know your answer.

WELL I DID IT FOR 2 REASONS
1. my stock exhaust had to be robbing me of mileage and horses
2. i wanted to hear my exhaust ( which is real real loud now )

and yes if i take my foot off at all theres backfiring ...... specially when i rev it up to around 3 or 4 then let off

yea idk it was just a question that was bothering me .... but like i said i still have my stock resonaters do u still have yours alf???

When you say muffler delete do you mean the actuals removal of your mufflers? Or is it a cutout in the piping before the muffler.

um yeah i removed my entire muffler's and so did alf over there...... im still usuing stock exhaust all the way abck and on the lt1's they came w/ stock resonaters which help the sound at low rpms from being heard ( by the poilce anyways )

i wish i had an automatic cutout w/ a switch but im poor so u know how that goes lol :eek:
