Question 64 iMPALA HELP!!!!

Remove this ad!
I JUST GOT MY DREAM CAR AND I AM TRYING TO PUT A TH350 IN IT BUT I HAVE HEARD THAT IT REQUIRES A SPECIAL LINKAGE TO INSTALL IT TO MAKE IT SHIFT.

IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND SUCH LINKAGE THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL

IF ANYONE HAS ANY PICS OR SPECS ON THIS SAID LINKAGE THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

IF ANYONE HAS THIS LINKAGE LAYING AROUND AND WOULD CONSIDER SELLING IT THAT WOULD BE SUPER!!

THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE!!!!

In Guessing ur talkin about a kickdown cable or detent cable. It is
Supposed to make u shift and downshift if u don't have it u have to
Manually downshift but that's what I've read so not 100% sure.
If so I just replaced mine cause it leaked at the transmission.
if this is what u need then u should be able to buy one at an auto
Parts store I got mine from advance auto parts for $17 pretty cheap
I think. And u might need a bracket that bolts to the manifold to hold the
Cable in place like ur throttle linkage. Or u may have a spot for it on the
throttle linkage. Hope this helps if u need a pic just ask.

It might be better to delete the column shift and just go with an after market floor shift kit.
